Gary P. Gottlieb, MD
Gary P. Gottlieb, MD was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland and received his M.D. degree from Temple University in Philadelphia.

Dr. Gottlieb did his post-graduate training at University of Pittsburgh. He also served on the Faculty of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where he taught medical students and residents, and Fellows in the Gastroenterology Division. He was Chief of Gastroenterology at the Pittsburgh Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he conducted basic and clinical research.

After 21 years at a leading GI practice in suburban Cleveland, he moved to Tucson to practice at Desert Sun Gastroenterology. Dr. Gottlieb's professional interests include the broad field of Digestive and Liver Diseases, including Endoscopy and the treatment of Hepatitis C. He is also interested in the psychosocial, emotional, nutritional, and spiritual aspects of health and illness.

Dr. Gottlieb performs his outpatient endoscopy at Desert Sun Surgery Center, a state-of-the-art ambulatory endoscopy facility located adjacent to Desert Sun Gastroenterology. He provides inpatient services at Carondelet St. Joseph's Hospital, and Cornerstone Hospital of Southeast Arizona.
